Iowa residents concerned about the continuing decline of bobwhite quail populations have formed the first chapter of Quail Forever (QF) in Central Iowa. The new chapter will be called the Trail Blazer Chapter of QF and will focus on local and state wide quail habitat projects.
In the last few years, the Iowa Pheasants Forever along with the Iowa DNR has done some great work creating some great habitat for all upland game species on public hunting areas in Iowa.
Our chapters focus will be on working with the Iowa Pheasants Forever and the Iowa DNR on creating habitat to support and increase the specific needs the Quail needs to survive and thrive.
The Trail Blazer Chapter was started in February of 2006. We are looking for hunters, dog owners and anyone else interested in bringing the Quail population back up to early 70's and mid 80's population.
